NERVE FILM REVIEW

The film Nerve stars Emma Roberts and Dave Franco. The film is an action adventure, thriller film. The film revolves around the idea of an online illegal game that nobody but teens no about. The game dares the young teens to do reckless spontaneous things. The dares start out a harmless but as the game progresses the dares get more and more dangerous, especially as if you complete a dare you get money. The game becomes more and more dangerous until Emma Roberts character realises that she could be in trouble.

The film is set in NYC the lead character Vee played by Emma Roberts wants to move across to the city, but her mum doesn’t want her too because her brother just died. Her best friend Sydney has already signed up to nerve and encourages Vee to. Vee refuses so Syd dares her to ask out a guy she likes, Vee refuses so Syd has to do it for her. It turns out that JP doesn’t actually like Vee, so she leaves school humiliated. Vee then when she gets home decided to sign up for Nerve, and her first dare is to kiss a Guy for 5 seconds. She successfully completes the dare and it turns out that the guy who she kisses is also playing the game, and the watches (the people who watch) want them to carry on playing he game together. However it turns out that Ian the guy, played by Dave Franco has splayed before, and he is hiding something from Vee. As the pair begins to play together Vee discovers about how dangerous Ian and the game is. Can she win the game without the risk of severe consequences?

The directors of Nerve were Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost. The things that I enjoyed about the film, was how relatable it was to social media and how every teenager can relate to peer pressuring in what thing or another. The film also isn’t to scary or disturbing as some thriller films can be, it had just the right amount of thrills but in the way of making your palms sweat not jump scares. The thing that I would change about the movie is absolutely nothing; it is probably one of my favourite movies of all time, just because of how real t is. I also love the fact that the film is set in NYC the aesthetic of the movie is just astonishing, I also love the music that they used. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who wants a film that you cant stop watching.

The Landlady film review

The land lady is a short film, by roald dahl from tales of the unexpected. It is about a young boy who stays in a B&b but everything doesnt turn oout to be as it seems. As it was a short film it was obviously, a lot harder to take in the film and have an interesting narrayive, but what I loved about the film was how non scary it was but at the end of the film you still got chills, if I was the director and I was redoing the film, I would make things a lot more chilling. But I think this was just due to the time period it was made in. overall I really enjoyed the film.  I also loved the short fact as it was a short film, as it did not drag out, which a lot of thrillers can do, I was not impressed with the acting at a

The stars of the film are Leonard preston who plays Billie weaver, and siobhan mckenna who plays the landlady.

I also really liked the directing of it and how simplistic the film was, it made the film more thrilling, the music at the end also added a thrilling affect which i really liked, there were lots of red herrings which made me even more enticed to The film.

Night crawler film review

Nightcrawler was the 2014 drama in the thriller it was directed by man called Dan Gill right. The film is about theft who finds a new career as a cameraman. His passion grows and he hires and self as an employee and becomes of CEst with getting shots eventually become so driven to get the money he actually tampers with crimes or creates the crimes. The movie did actually receive outstanding views understand Shanghai at writing however for me I found the movie quite difficult to understand and get into the plot was quite bland and I didn't really consider it to be a thriller film as there weren't enough thrills me and it was more drama than thriller.  However as a media student studying studying the film I thought the camera editing mise en scène was absolutely amazing and really fitted with the theme

The next film of you that I am going to do is call the shallows.  Honestly the film for me sums up a thriller 100%. The film is about shocked up which is what every likes because it actually taking real life situations and making them into thrillers. It's about a girl who goes on a journey to find something for mum left her son she gets stranded on an island with a shark circulating her in the shadows of the water. Either way she's going to die. For me this film was so good is it really kept me on the edge of my seat constantly I never want to look away from the film which is really important thing for direct to one from the audience. I also really feel it was captivating and it was probably more thrilling due to it being a real-life situation and audience member, I could really imagine that happening which is very scary really. The film review was successful for many critics and for me I would put it it was amazing and I would deafly recommend it to anyone, If you're looking to watch a good thriller.

Taking a film review

My next thrill of you and of the 2008 movie taken star in the amazing actor Liam Neeson movie is simplistic story line about the government agent who doesn't work on the agency any more whose daughter goes to Paris with a friend was adopted and he tracked her down. For me this film is a satisfying through as it wasn't too scary and it was just the amount of throws that I needed in the right place for me to enjoy and be engrossed in the film.  Can paired to my other reviews this thriller with a much more lighthearted film but not as lighthearted and the action based was very clever despite this I still enjoy the movie with its chase scenes and fight scene they were very intense.

Psycho film review

I watched the thriller film Physcho which was directed by Alfred hitchcock, for me the film has always been one of my favourite films, just for the main thing due to how brilliantly directed it is. The thing that I love about phsycho, is it is probably the most true to a thriller film out of any of the thriller films, as its not to scary, but it leaves your head so messed up by the end. it is also not to scary as some films that are in the thriller genre resemble more of a horror film, than a thriller film, but not phsycho. As a media student watchingt his film I have learned so much about the thriller genre and how you can interpretate it. i have learnt so much about directive styles, camera angles, and the us eof sound aswell, and how to make it atmosphereic. The film was brilliantly acted and i would give it 5 stars

vertigo film review

Again i will be reviewing another HItchcock film, and yet again this one certainly did not disappoint. within this film there were so many plot twists, to a point where I am still not sure what the film was baout but I just loved it because you got a small incling and not to much was revealed. Yet again this film was directed so well, the acting was phenomal, and it was so nice to see an old hollywood classsic with a strong perfromance from a female in it, I was really pleased. it was also nice as this film was in colour aswell. I also enjoyed this film not that its relevant but my dad also actually has vertigo, so i could kind of relate which made me feel more uneasy about what happened. I would give this a 4 stars as it was still brilliant but it wasn't as good as phsycho.

the next film that I am going to be reviewing is the balck swan, the balck swan is about two ballerinas who are both incredibly passionate baout their craft, and have been training practically their whole lives, The lead Nina has dreamed about being the lead ballerina, but when another prima ballerin a comes in and threatens to take her spotlight, we see a dark shift in her personality. I think that thnis film was very creative and uniquen as it is not a topic/ theme i would expect to see in a tnriller film, but some elements were incredibly dark and disturbing, so i was pleasently surprised, I thought that the flm was acted excellently and direted excellently for that matter swell, i would also give this 4 stars.

The next film of you that I'm going to do, is actually about the film brim.

Now I know this film isn't stereotypically known as a thriller genre film however some aspects in the film I found incredibly thrilling and put me on the edge of my seat so I thought I would review in the film room is about a girl who gets kidnapped when she 17 and she is trapped in this room she's also write every night with Mark had more adult content and she ends up with a child that is a back story of the film it is also a book and adapted into the film. It then takes the two characters on a journey.  Jenny is about the lead protagonists and her son and have escaped from this room.  Like I said I personally found some aspects of this incredibly tense in suspense where I can look at the screen at some point also helped and assisted by the use of music and a soundtrack because that's quite tense I also thought it was directed excellently possibly one of the best films I've ever seen one of my favourites and the acting was absolutely phenomenal I am never cried so much in film and I've never had so many emotions all at once I would give this film five stars.

What I have learnt from watching so many thriller films, is lots of techniques that will be helpful to our main idea, and how to set up the camera, lights etc in order to get the best result. I also learnt quite a fair amount about the order and appearance of events and narrative structures also.
